Leadership Development Academy
The AHCBED Leadership Development Academy provides leadership development for professionals and youth serving North Harris County and surrounding communities. This program is designed specifically to provide hands-on training for future leaders seeking growth in various areas such as; education, health, cultural arts and awareness, community development, government and public safety, argriculture, and entrepreneurship.
Participants selected to participate in the program will have met the following criteria:
- Submitted a complete application packet
- Provide 2 references of support
- Demonstrated a commitment to serving the community through volunteerism orcommunity service
- Received the support from company/organization/ or school
Tuition covers the cost of activities, programs,speakers, and meals. There are a limited number of scholarships available for both the professional and youth tracks of the program.
Participants are expected to attend monthly sessions over the course of 8 months.
Orientation is one of the valuable first-steps a future leader takes when entering the Leadership Development Academy (LDA). The oreintation prepares future leaders the skills to support entering a new environment and meeting new people as they learn what to expect from the program, what's expected of them, and how to tap into local resources and support services to reach their goals and aspirations involving leadership performance and development in the community, school, or business.
